Introduction

Being a native Floridan who's young for his age and growing up in northeast Florida, I like sport fishing, boating/crusing, outdoor activities, RVing/camping and most Florida-related things in general. Other interests include art shows, long drives in the country, lazy Sunday mornings and exploring this new thing called retirement. I live on my boat, have cruised the Bahamas and spent the last 15 years in the Dominican Republic co-owning a small hotel (I speak Spanglish) where I enjoyed meeting people of all races and ethnic backgrounds from all over the world.

I spent my early years in commercial broadcasting during the 60's and 70's and enjoy many kinds of music (however I've never gotten into rap or really heavy metal). I started as a copy writer/weekend disc jockey and enjoyed it so much I got my first degree in broadcasting, UF '70. In short order I became the youngest TV news director/anchorman in the state many mango seasons ago. After returning to UF and earning a master's degree, I taught broadcasting and educational media/instructional design in the 80's at the college and university level before leaving the hallowed halls of ivy in pursuit of other interests eventually ending up in the Caribbean.

I'm a straightforward kind of guy and appreciate honesty above all else. Although legally separated, my divorce will be final 2/27/12. I'm not a he-man but have held my own in weathering life's challenges. And as with many well-adjusted males, I too have a softer side; trying to be understanding and compassionate while truly enjoying the companionship and soft touch of a loving woman.

My goals/aspirations are to continue facing life's challenges with a youthful spirit and enjoy as much of life as I can.

What makes me unique? That's a good question. Besides being myself and comfortable with who I am, I'm still trying to figure that one out. Maybe I will when I grow up.
