Introduction

I am looking for a friend and a partner who will help me get the most out of life though I will always find joy in both helping and loving others. I look forward to having someone to share travel and the finer things of life with while I learn best how to fit into her busy life.
No matter what it will be good not to be alone. I begin my search for the right lady wanting to respect her, support her and be a friend to her. A deeper relationship between us would be ideal. But such things are in the Lord's hands.

But it is very true that I enjoy the ministry I am Called to do and would continue to work but at a slower pace for years to come. No matter what my first order of business will always be providing a home and enjoyable life for the woman the Lord may send into my life.

What would you like to do on a first date?

The first date requires a lot of talking. So why not share some coffee time or relax over a fine meal (lady's choice). Take the time to share the conversation time equally. Don't rush. Nerves will surface. That's part of the excitement of a new relationship. Go ahead ask questions. Remember to end your time together after a fair amount of time. The second date may be just around the corner. Remember, a good relationship is built upon honest communication.

Why you should get to know me:

I have been able to live the life I wanted becoming a student in an Ivy League seminary, pastoring 4 different churches, being a teacher in both high school and college and being a chaplain in 4 different hospitals, most recently chaplain at a VA hospital in WV, currently teaching pastor at First Baptist Church in Beckley, looking to relocate somewhere in the USA. But perhaps my greatest joy was being married to a gal who is bi-polor. Her illness ended our marriage. I want marriage to come my way again and will both honor and respect the lady God brings into my life. For me there is no greater joy than doing for the woman you love!!!! What have I not received or done in my life? I have no children and I have yet to buy my own home. But all in all my life has been blessed!!!!

What have past relationships taught you?

Life is best lived in male/female pairs -- as the Lord intended from the beginning. The size of a woman's heart is more important than the size of her bank account. Beauty will fade. Fame is fleeting. True love should only deepen over time. Respect, concern and affection are the cornerstones of a romantic relationship. No one should die alone. We live in a modern society which so often judges people by their outward appearance (that's only natural) But for the godly view on such matters read this verse from the bible: I Samuel 16:7.

Describe some of the most important things in your life:

Important things in my life: My health, my ability to help and support others and my willingness to meet new people and make new friends. Rich full lives are rightly filled with those we love. The greatest thing we'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. My philosophy in accomplishing any form of ministry, public service or maintaining close personal relationships hinges on the motto of Rotary Clubs International: Service Above Self and the first line of the Boy Scout Oath: "On my honor, I will do my best to God and my country."

Describe your perfect day:

There is no perfect day here on earth. Each day is a mixture of the good and the bad. So life is what we make it. And it is best lived out with one's partner or soul mate. But there are those times which stick in our memory -- usually days of transition. Days that involve starting in a new school, graduating, moving to a new geographic location, weddings, special romantic dates or even funerals. As for things in my life--I have a collection of items which bring back good memories first among them are photographs. I have learned that we can never give enough nor love enough. My close friends have all signed my persoal
home guest book since 1984. I would welome your friendship!

One final thing I'd like to mention...

I was born just north of the city of Pittsburgh, Pa, to a Baptist steelworker and Methodist nurse, who have both died. Currently, I have three younger brothers and a younger sister. I am a life long Pirate and Steeler fan, a great reader who also sings in B Flat and likes to cook simple dinners, often chicken or somethng with a red sauce. I drink tea not coffee. I own a 3 year old Rag Doll kitty and love dogs.
My favorite way to travel is by rail. In a relationship communication, compassion and understanding are more importanrt than age, or race.

I will befriend and make friends with any one. Gay, straight, young or old.
There are no strangers in this world for me -- only friends I have not met.

I was born on Wednesday, November 17, 1948, prematurely, my delivery leaving me with spastic paraplegia. Although, its an understatement to say that my physical disability has never dampened my love for life, my ability to achieve nor my ability to love and serve literally everyone the Lord has brought into my life. If you seek a lasting meaningful, caring relationship with someone I offer myself, happy for your friendship and love!

I have realized that to really deepen a relationship will require my moving much nearer a special lady. Most women in their mid -50's or older are so tied to their families that for them relocation is out of the question. Yet such a move would allow for a truely fresh start.

I do enjoy meeting new and old friends on this and other sites. But my goal is to find a new lady to marry. However, before that can become a reality, I am trying to find a new job in ministry in a new place. Can that new place be somewhere in the USA near the lady the Lord may have for me? YES!!!
