What would you like to do on a first date?
Have coffee or a "light" cocktail and/or something to eat. Get to know one another somewhat.
Why you should get to know me:
I am usually satisfied with the simpler things - dinner at a club with a piano bar USED to be great - very hard to find nowadays... I like movies but feel the expense of going out to a movie has gotten way out of hand... I like most kinds of music (except the "newer/noisy/loud" rock); have attended the theater & concerts and have enjoyed both. I like visiting with family & friends for barbecues, playing cards/games and conversation. I enjoy gambling once in awhile; but, the table minimums are getting too high for my liking, so I usually stick to the penny slots. All in all, I am pretty easy to please
What have past relationships taught you?
First and foremost, learn to "pick your battles". I have found that most of life's irritations aren't worth waging a battle over - no one is perfect - we all have our faults. I like to see the good in others and hesitate to judge others; "Judge not, lest you be judged by others".

Right up front, I would like to point out that I am a smoker (I know, UGH!). I may or may not quit in the future; but, being nagged about it will NOT force me to quit. I really don't feel I am stubborn; but, I do have a mind of my own. Also, I was born and raised in a small town in the Midwest (having moved to CA in 1983 - for the weather) so I feel I am very "down to earth" and do not like "phony" people. I accept others for who they are, not for who they think they are or would like to be... I would like the same courtesy from others. I am no Einstein; but, I feel I am relatively intelligent. I can usually keep up my end of the conversation. I am not fond of housework; BUT, I hate a messy house more, so I do what I have to... I am a "plain Jane" cook
