My ideal first date would be to meet for coffee, lunch or dinner, or time outdoors (weather permitting!) to talk and get to know each other. I'm not into the bar scene, so meeting for drinks would be at the bottom of my list of "wanna do's."

I don't let the little stuff bother me (although some of it probably should at times!), and I am not out to change anyone. My sense of humor is somewhat dry, and my friends tell me I'm funny. I can make you laugh at just about anything.

My 32-year marriage taught me patience, deep love and that it's important to like your significant other. I also learned the value of supporting my mate in his ambitions and dreams, and that the only criticism should be constructive. While it is important to do things together, it is equally important to allow space and alone time when necessary and/or requested.

My children are extremely important to me as they have been there for me (and I for them) since their father passed away. I have had some health challenges and they have interrupted their lives to care for me. I am also passionate about my volunteer work and contributing of my time and talent to my church. I am in the handbell choir at my church and substitute in another church's handbell choir.

My perfect day starts with waking up next to someone whose arms are still wrapped tightly around me, and it ends in his arms, exhausted from a busy day, drifting off to sleep.

I must warn you that I no longer look exactly like my pictures. Have been dieting and exercising, adopted a new "look" and tweaked my attitude a tad. It's all part of the re-invention of myself and the search for a new "normal."
