Caryn & Barry: A Moonlit Proposal on the Pier

Caryn and Barry met through SilverSingles and discovered a shared love of seafood. Their connection grew over time, leading to a proposal on the same pier where they shared their first date. They celebrated their wedding surrounded by family and friends in a beautiful outdoor setting.

How did you meet? What was your first date like?
We both discovered we love seafood, so our first date was at a seafood restaurant. After dinner, we walked out on the pier and kissed under the moonlight. He had me at hello—and I think I had him, too! Every anniversary of our first date, we go back there.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
It was three days later when he took me out again for dinner. Afterward, we got into his truck and he leaned over and said, “I love you.” It blew my mind, and I told him I was falling, too.

What can you tell us about the proposal?
He took me back to our special seafood restaurant on the second anniversary of our first date. After dinner, out on the pier, he got down on one knee and proposed with the most beautiful ring. All I could say was, “Oh my God!” And then, yes—of course.

What can you tell us about the wedding?
We were married outdoors overlooking the Chesapeake Bay with our families and closest friends on the most beautiful day.

Be yourself, and don’t settle.
